Our Mission

The Kyrgyz Association in Canada is a not-for-profit community organization established in 2011 and based in Edmonton, Alberta, dedicated to fostering community and inclusivity. Our primary goals include:

Increasing awareness and promoting Kyrgyz culture as a part of diversity and inclusion initiatives, and preserving traditions in Canada for future generations.

Developing connections and providing opportunities for multicultural and intercultural interactions between and among Kyrgyz, Canadian, Central Asian, Turkic- and Slavic-speaking communities’ members.

Strengthening intergenerational ties to connect parents with the younger generation (children).

Welcoming newcomers from the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as Central Asian, Turkic- and Slavic-speaking countries, developing networking and providing support to integrate culturally and linguistically into Canadian society.

Contributing to mental well-being of our members.

Our Vision

Our vision is to be a vibrant and essential resource for the Kyrgyz community in Canada, fostering a strong sense of belonging, promoting cultural awareness, and supporting the successful integration of newcomers. We are committed to building bridges between cultures and creating a positive impact in our community.

We offer a range of activities and services designed to support our community and promote Kyrgyz culture. These include workshops, cultural events, networking opportunities, and support services for newcomers. We strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone.
